RIH Foundation Welcomes a $15 Million Transformational Gift from the Family of Phil & Jennie Gaglardi

The entire Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) Foundation team – the Board, Campaign Cabinet and Staff – would like to thank the Gaglardi family for the tremendous gift. We came together on November 3rd 2021 to celebrate the largest gift in RIH Foundation and Interior Health’s history – $15 Million dollars!

The event was held in the brand new beautiful Atrium of the new Phil & Jennie Gaglardi Tower. If you would like replay the moments of this memorable event, a recording of the event can be found HERE.

The Phil & Jennie Gaglardi tower will help transform the way we deliver patient care in Kamloops and the Thompson Cariboo region and will support the thousands of medical staff who care for patients every single day in our hospital. We are all united with one common goal, and we are more than midway to our $35 Million Campaign goal – but we still have a way to go.

“On behalf of Royal Inland Hospital, medical staff and all staff, I wanted to say a huge thank you to the Gaglardi family. The opening of the new Phil & Jennie Gaglardi tower is going to transform the delivery of health care across so many of our program areas”, shared Dr. Todd Ring, Emergency Department Physician and Chief of Staff at RIH. “We will see a new Surgical Floor with 13 ultra-modern surgical suites, a safe and healing environment for patients in the 30 bed mental health and substance use department, an expanded Child & Adolescent Mental Health Unit, Maternal & Child Services with private rooms from birth to recovery and a new expanded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), to name a few.”
